Alexander Pruitt, M.D. FAAOS FACSOrthopaedic Surgeon
Dr. Pruitt resided with his family in Council Bluffs, NE, attending Lewis Central High. He graduated from U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY in 1976, and from Creighton University in 1983. Following medical school, he began internship and residency at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center, Aurora, CO through 1989, performing military orthopaedic surgeon duties in following years.
Board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), Dr. Pruitt also has fellowship designation with the AAOS as well as the ACS.
In 1993, Dr. Pruitt began an orthopaedic surgery practice in Spencer, IA and surrounding communities. In 2004, Orthopaedics PC began as a new orthopaedic practice in NW Iowa, where Dr. Pruitt continued to serve NW Iowa patients, families, and the medical community, through diagnosis and treatment. Orthopaedics PC’s location in downtown Spencer as well as clinic locations in Estherville and Emmetsburg.
In 2008, Orthopaedics PC and Dr. Pruitt were joined in their medical services by two experienced physician assistants: Sue Harman, PA-C, and Jessica Prewitt-Emerson, PA-C.
Orthopaedics PC offers care and quality for each patient and at the same time provides the latest in electronic records, computerized x-rays, and digital OPEN MRI on site. Orthopaedics PC offers convenient scheduling and access through the efforts of certified and experienced orthopaedic practitioners and staff.
Along with busy patient schedules, Dr. Pruitt, his wife, Jean, and their sons continue their enthusiastic participation in the growing and dynamic Northwest Iowa Youth Soccer Alliance, an organization that they’ve been instrumental in developing along with other community members and their families.
